Super Knowledge Addon Quick-Start Guide

Installation:

Step 1) Go to http://www.mrmutation.com/ska/ska1900.xpi in Firefox.

A dialog will pop up asking if you wish to install the extension, choose "install now" when it becomes enabled.

Step 2) You will be informed that you should restart Firefox, do so now or wait for later. You will not be able to use SKA until you restart.

That's it, SKA is now installed.

Basic Usage:

If you've used the Textpertension Firefox extension, you will find using Super Knowledge is somewhat similar, although they serve different purposes.
With Firefox open, pressing CTRL+ALT+S or SHIFT+ALT+Z will bring up the Super Knowledge bar.

From left to right you will see:

1) The close button

2) The search Box, this is where you will type in your searches. When the Super Knowledge bar appears, this box should already be selected, and you can just start typing.

3) The search engine list. This tells you what search engine is currently selected. Clicking on it brings up a lis of all the available search engines/tools and you can click one to select it. Additionally, anytime the Super Knowledge bar is visible, you can press the up and down arrows on your keyboard to scroll through the list.

4) The open in new tab check box. This checkbox controls whether searches are opened in a new tab or the current one. By defaul SKA opens searches in a new tab.

5) The go button. Clicking on this button performs the search. Additionally, you can just hit the enter button.

There are 2 kinds of possible searches: simple and advanced.

A "simple" search, just has one field where you enter data. An example of this would be Google. For "advanced" searches there are more options. You will see for an advanced search that a second bar will appear on top of the Super Knowledge bar with more options. An example of this is the Google Translate option.

Text Entry:

If you highlight some text on the current page, you will see that if you bring up Super Knowledge, the text will already be there. Highlighting some text, then hitting CTRL+ALT+S will bring up the Super Knowledge bar with the text already filled in; you can then hit the up and down arrows to change search engines and then enter to search.

Additionally, Super Knowledge has a right click menu you can access with you mouse by right clicking the page, you will see an option called "SKA". Selecting that option will bring up an organized list of all the available search engines.

When you click one, one of several things happens:

1) If SKA is not visible, it appears with the search engine you picked set as the current search engine. If any text is highlighted, it appears in the search box.

2) If SKA is visible, the current search engine is set to the one you picked. If any text is highlighted, it appears in the search box.

This covers basic usage.
